Voltaic Cell Kit w/ 8 Electrodes & Porous Cup

A voltaic cell is a great tool for showcasing the features of a primary cell. With its transparent cup, you can observe the electro-chemical reactions clearly. The heavy molded plastic rim at the top includes a durable nickel-plated clamp that can secure both round and flat electrodes.

This kit includes with the following 8 electrodes: copper, aluminum, zinc, tin, brass, iron, nickel, and carbon. The porous cup provided can be utilized to construct a dry cell battery. One method is filling the porous cup with a mixture of powdered MnO2 and NH4Cl, then inserting it into the plastic cup. Fill the remaining space with NH4Cl solution and place a carbon rod electrode in the porous cup and a zinc electrode in the plastic cup for operation.
