Model Lymph Nodes

The model illustrates the structure of a lymph node, highlighting key features such as the incoming lymphatic vessels, the germinal center, the sinuses, and the outgoing lymphatic vessels. It also includes details about the protective fibrous capsule, trabeculae, as well as the incoming blood supply artery and the vein responsible for outgoing blood. Lymph nodes typically range in size from 1 to 25 mm in diameter, but they may enlarge during times of infection or illness. Within these nodes, the sinuses are populated by scavenger white blood cells known as macrophages, which play a crucial role in engulfing bacteria and other foreign materials. This model is mounted on a base for easy display.
